With Christmas fast approaching, The Ulster Farmers’ Union in Magherafelt have organised an evening in Maghera in aid of Charis Cancer Care, in conjunction with the Patron of Charis, Jenny Bristow.
Wednesday, 10th December, is the date to enter on the calendar for this exciting evening of entertainment.
The event titled “Christmas Food, Fashion and Fun” promises to be an entertaining night with the highlight being Jenny’s cookery demonstration.
The event is themed around local people and local produce, and all proceeds of the evening will go to Charis. Jenny will be cooking up some mouth-watering meals using the finest locally sourced produce, giving tips on how to do it just in time for Christmas. There will also be a fashion show on the evening with a number of local businesses showcasing their latest Autumn/Winter collection.
At the interval light refreshments will be served, and at this point you will have an opportunity to purchase Jenny’s new book. The night will finish off with our Christmas Bumper Raffle with prizes being kindly donated by our local businesses. Jenny has also very generously donated a place at her cookery school which we will raffle off on the night.
Commenting on the event Jenny said: “I think this will be a great opportunity for both men and women in the Mid-Ulster area to have a good night out and have some fun, while picking up tips for Christmas cooking. The evening is open for people of all age groups to attend and I’m looking forward to a great evening and helping a cause that is very close to my heart at the same time.”
Group Manager Garry Scott commented: “An ever increasing number of people spend long hours embroiled in the day to day running of their business. This is an excellent opportunity to unwind in the company of cookery legend Jenny Bristow who will be on hand to offer hints and tips on all things Christmas. Nothing like this has ever been held in our area and we are delighted to have Jenny involved with proceeds going to such a worthwhile charity.”
This cross community event will be held in the Curragh Hall, 43 Crewe Road, Maghera, on Wednesday 10th December 2014 at 7.30pm. Limited tickets are available at £10/head. Contact the The Ulster Farmers Union Office on 028 7963 2127 to book your ticket.
