Enter the exciting world of bees and find out more about these amazing creatures at Oxford Islands ‘Bee Curious’ event this June.
Organised by Craigavon Borough Council, the free event will take place on Saturday 14th June 2014 from 11.00am – 4.00pm, and is the perfect opportunity to meet beekeepers and learn about the rewarding work of pollinators.
Activities on the day will include Jenny Bristow cooking up a storm using ingredients produced by bees, craft activities & face painting for kids of all ages, talks and tours on bees, herbs and plants used by pollinators and demonstrations at Oxford Island’s very own bee hives!
In addition, there will be flower arranging workshops, candle making demonstrations, observation hive, an educational area dedicated to learning about the products we obtain from pollinators, such as food, soap, candles etc, goodies for sale and much more!
This event is free and everyone is encouraged to come along for a great day out. If you would like to participate in a free guided walk around the Pollinators Paradise sites at Oxford Island booking is required. The walks will last approximately 45 minutes and will detail relevant species appropriate to pollinators.
